Welcome to SiteSmith

Welcome to SiteSmith University. This course is your guide to the SiteSmith client area, the web panel where you look after your account: the services you have, what you've ordered, your invoices, your team and your conversations with our support team.

The short video above is a tour of the screens you'll use most. The rest of the course walks through each one with the fictional company Harbor & Pine Coffee, a small roaster with a cafe, a website and a team of six.

What SiteSmith is for

SiteSmith runs websites, hosting and business apps for small companies. With one account you can:

• Order hosting for your website and email, and manage it in the hosting control panel.
• Register and look after domain names.
• Use Workspace, the office suite: Mail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Chat, Meet and more.
• Ask us to build a website or app, and follow the project, its quote and its payments.
• Talk to a real person through support tickets.

What's free and what's paid

• Creating a SiteSmith account is free, and so is the client area itself.
• The Workspace apps are free to use. Some have paid plans with higher limits: Workspace+ and Workspace Pro for Workspace as a whole, and Pro and Business plans for apps such as Forms, Blog, Boards, CRM and Store.
• Hosting, domains and custom projects are paid. Hosting is billed monthly or yearly, domains a year at a time.

Prices change from time to time, so this course doesn't quote them. The Order page in the client area and each app's plan page always show the current ones.

What this course covers

1. Welcome and sign-in: how the client area, the hosting control panel and Workspace fit together, and how to create your account and sign in.
2. Find your way around: the Dashboard, the menus, search and notifications, getting into Workspace, and your services, domains and assets.
3. Ordering and billing: ordering hosting and upgrades, bundles and gifts, how billing works, and paying invoices.
4. Your account, team and help: keeping your account secure, inviting your team and getting help from support.

Each section ends with a short quiz, and the course ends with a Course check. There's also a set of flashcards and two games to practice with.
