Welcome to SiteSmith Learn
SiteSmith Learn is where you teach. You can build online courses, run quizzes and tests, make flashcards and games, teach a class with a join code, and open your own school site with your name and colors. Students take your courses in Workspace, on your school site, or in the SiteSmith Schools phone app.
This course is for anyone who teaches or trains other people: a cafe training new baristas, a coach selling a course, a teacher running a class. The examples use Harbor & Pine Coffee, a small coffee company that trains its staff and sells two courses to the public.
Find your way around
Open Learn from the Workspace app launcher. The left side of the screen has two groups:
- Learn: Home, the Catalog of public courses, My learning for courses you take, and Classes.
- Teach: Studio (your dashboard), My courses, Schools, Quizzes & tests, Live games, Study sets, Lesson plans, Earnings and Plan.

The Studio shows your students, courses, balance and anything waiting for a grade.
The Studio is the place to start each day. The tiles across the top show how many students you have, how many courses are published, your balance from paid courses, and how many written answers are waiting for a grade. Build with AI and New course start a new course.
What's free and what's paid
Every account can teach on the free plan of SiteSmith Learn. It covers a small number of courses, one class at a time, live games for a classroom-sized group, one school, and a few AI requests a month. Quizzes, tests, final exams and certificates are included on every plan.
The Pro and Business plans raise the limits: more courses, more classes and students per class, more players in a live game, more schools and instructors, and more AI requests. Open Plan to see the exact limits and prices, and how much of each you're using.

What this course covers
- Getting started: how the parts of Learn fit together.
- Build a course: sections, the five lesson kinds, quizzes and tests, pricing and publishing.
- Practice, games and classes: study sets, games you play alone or live with a PIN, and classes.
- Your own school: a school site with your look, home page, domain, instructors and the game library.
Each section ends with a short quiz, and the course ends with a course check. Some features can use AI, such as Build with AI for a new course or Write with AI in a lesson. They use your plan's AI requests, and this course shows how to do everything by hand.
